At Fitness Project, we believe in fostering the spirit of community which starts by building a better you! Our approach to healthy living encompasses more than just working out – but seeks to establish a balanced lifestyle that touches on all aspects of fitness, health, and wellness.

As we explored before in a previous blog post, 7 Ways To Overcome Gym Insecurity, we recognize how intimidating it can be to show up to the gym and how big of a barrier it is for those who are in the early stages of their fitness journey. That’s why we’ve come up with a Part 2 to bring you more tips on how to beat gym insecurity and how to show up with confidence! 

It’s critical to develop a team-oriented mindset in order to establish a positive relationship with the gym. You’re entering a community of people – members and staff – who are unilaterally working towards bettering themselves (and their community), and few people go at it alone (although if that is what you want, we will support that decision with a smile).

We have a ton of great STUDIO offerings , GROUP classes, and services that guarantee a variety of great workouts, fitness equipment, and amenities in an inspiring and motivational setting. Many of the team and GROUP settings are great ways to find accountable gym buddies which can make for a good time while progressing towards your fitness goals.

At the end of the day, no matter how tired or overwhelmed you feel, it’s so important to just  SHOW UP! 

Getting started and staying consistent means you are dedicated to your goals and proves that nothing can stop you! Our clubs have SO many resources to support you, regardless of your needs.

By following some of the tips below, we can ensure that you’re well on your way to showing up with all the confidence you need to smash it! Our team is 100% committed to your wellbeing and can’t wait to welcome you to the gym.

SHOW UP!

Showing up is the first step in conquering insecurities at the gym. Good day? Show up. Bad day? Show up. Not feeling it? Show up. Slowly, your motivation will increase and showing up will become easier to prioritize no matter how the day goes.

One of the most effective resources we offer to help you keep track of your progress is through our FREE 3D Body Assessments.Using the Styku 3D Body Composition Assessment, we help our members better understand what they’re made of. This is a unique glimpse into your fitness journey that provides information around your progress and helps to identify areas of opportunity. Another great way to stay motivated is to write down moments where you’ve reaped the benefits of your hard work. By acknowledging your progress, you’re more likely to continue showing up.

Showing up doesn’t always look the same. 

Life is busy, and we understand that it’s not always possible to make it into the gym despite our best efforts. By taking advantage of our FP Studio Training APP (exclusively available for STUDIO Members) you’ll have access to a number of tools to help you along your fitness journey, including virtual training sessions and on-demand workouts that you can enjoy from home or from anywhere on the go. Our FP Studio Training App will enable you to schedule your classes, track your progress and get a workout in, all in one place! This way, you’re still showing up – it’s just looking a bit different.

On days you’re struggling to show up to your workout, try to approach the challenge with an open mind and with the mentality that you’re improving your overall wellness. Some small adjustments can go a long way:

✓ Book consultations with our staff to learn about how to keep you motivated as you navigate your fitness journey.

BUILDING A ‘TEAMWORK’ MINDSET – GROUP CLASSES 

Things are often less intimidating when you surround yourself with people who align with your goals and who “fill your cup”.

We have a number of GROUP classes that target different areas and cater to all fitness levels. Our motivating instructors look forward to welcoming new participants and work to create an uplifting and energizing environment for all.

LM Core

Looking to smash a core workout? Our LM Core classes provide all the necessary movements to strengthen and tone your core and body.

Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Attack

If you’re looking to elevate the heart rate – check out our Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Attack classes 

Body Flow and Yoga classes

Alternatively, if you’d like to focus on slow movements that increase flexibility, our Body Flow and Yoga classes are a great option for you.

By participating in a group workout, you’re choosing to put yourself in a positive setting that is conducive to your wellbeing and your fitness journey. Building a team mindset is a great approach to work on your goals in an environment that is meant to motivate and encourage others while also being encouraged by your community.

In addition to our group classes, we also offer a fitness clinic that serves as a great way to start your fitness journey on the right path while getting to know members of our fitness community. These clinics provide you with the fundamentals, touring you around the facility and showing you step-by-steps on the best stretches, workouts and classes we offer. Clinics max out at 4 members per session, meaning you’ll receive the guaranteed individualized attention needed to kickstart your routine. These are also a great way to meet other newbies and maybe even make a few new friends.


 

RE-WORK YOUR SCHEDULE

Our facilities open earlier and stay open later than many other gyms throughout the work week.

If you’re an early-bird, feel free to come and visit our gyms as early as 4:00 AM to get your sweat in. If you’re more into the gym after hours – we’re open until 12:00 AM. We strive to be accessible and inclusive in order to meet your needs. If you’re struggling to maximize your time at the gym, consider working with our personal trainers who will assist you in familiarizing yourself with our amenities and help structure a workout plan that best suits your schedule.

We have a number of great in-house amenities and services that make it easier to show up! 

Play Kid’s Club

Our PLAY Kid’s club is a safe, fun environment where your kids will engage in fun, supervised activities.

Luxury Executive Locker Rooms

If you’re headed into meetings and worried about not having enough time to stop home and get ready – take advantage of our luxury executive locker rooms to get ready for the rest of your day.

 

At the end of the day – we get it. Getting started can be overwhelming. Whether it’s a new fitness club or you took a break from working out and are struggling to get back into it – it’s important to note that you’re not alone in feeling insecure.

In order to be successful in this, you may need to re-work your schedule and take advantage of our amenities to find some extra motivation – just another example to showcase that we’ve got your back!
