Every single child deserves a chance. That chance is YOU!
When a child enters the foster care system because his or her home is no longer safe, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer to help them. That volunteer is called a Court Appointed Special Advocate®, or CASA.

CASA volunteers serve as the “eyes and ears” for the judge in child welfare cases. This includes researching each child’s situation and making objective recommendations to help them reclaim their childhoods from abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers are frequently the only stable presence in these children’s lives as they navigate the foster care system.
These volunteers bring three critical qualities to their work: they focus on one case at a time; they bring a unique perspective to the court case; and their sole objective is representing the best interests of the child.
Every day, abused and neglected children are taken from their homes and placed into foster care because their parents cannot provide a safe home. CASA needs your help to ensure we help each child in need.
CASA has one mission, which is “to provide and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused and neglected child can have the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing, permanent home.”

Many families are living in uncertainty today praying that their shot at the American Dream has not been lost. HOME is the solution to slowing the spread of COVID-19. We are told everyday – stay home, work from home, shelter at home. What if, during this crisis, you didn’t have a secure and stable home?
About Houston Habitat
Since 1987, individuals, businesses and groups in our community have joined Houston Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place people call home.
Through shelter, we empower people to build a better future for themselves and their families by completing financial and home maintenance training, building homes alongside volunteers, and by purchasing their homes with an affordable mortgage. With this hand up, they achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance.
The Habitat initiative will meet the need of those most in need in our community. Together, and with your support, we will build back our community and economy! We will build back strength, stability and self-reliance! More importantly, we will build back hope, one home at a time.
Houston Habitat for Humanity is a tax-exempt 501(C) (3) nonprofit organization. Your gift is tax-deductible as allowed by law. Contact us today and see how your financial support, voice and time can help families build better futures.
