Did you know that CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County are Montgomery County’s only court-appointed organization advocating for abused and neglected children? Did you know that it is because of the wonderful support of our FITNESS PROJECT members and community that we have raised nearly $100K for this amazing organization?
CASA Child Advocates are appointed by Judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social services or languish in inappropriate groups or foster homes. Advocates stay with each case until the case is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many children, their CASA Advocate will be the one constant adult presence in their lives during this time. The goal of CASA is to provide a court-appointed volunteer to serve as Guardian ad Litem for every child who needs one and help break the cycle of abuse in our community one child at a time. Their vision is a community where families remain connected and childhood abuse and neglect are eliminated. Their work is making a difference in ways that extend beyond the homes and courts and we are so proud to be partnered in their efforts.
